A mild California patio and a mountain property below freezing do not need the same enclosure. We account for the installation climate before the sauna is built instead of placing an indoor cabin outside and adding a cover.
Read the winter installation guideR-8 to R-13 insulation is specified according to local conditions. More insulation reduces heat loss and shortens the additional preheat time caused by low ambient temperatures.
The Atlas Outdoor uses a dedicated 240V, 60A circuit and 12 kW of total system power. Final electrical plans are supplied for review by the licensed electrician and local authority.
The roof, overhangs, exterior finish, seals, and drainage strategy are designed as one enclosure. Local wind and snow-load requirements remain site-specific and must be confirmed during planning.
The sauna needs a level, drainable base. In freezing climates, foundation depth and movement must be addressed locally so seasonal frost does not rack the structure or compromise the door seal.

A-grade clear Western Red Canadian Cedar, kiln-dried and hand-selected for its natural resistance to moisture, decay, and insects. Outdoor wood still moves and weathers over time, so periodic exterior inspection and re-sealing are part of normal ownership. The exterior is finished in vertical black wood paneling.
On any level, drainable surface — a concrete pad, paver patio, or reinforced deck. Allow 2–3 feet of clearance on all sides. We recommend keeping it out of direct sunlight when possible to preserve the wood's natural color over time.
Most Atlas Outdoor orders ship within 10–14 weeks of final design approval. Your sauna ships via ground freight — you'll receive tracking and the carrier will call to schedule your delivery window.
Residential product lifetime is 7 years from final delivery, with 7 years on heaters, 3 years on power, controls, and junction boxes, 1 year on lights, speakers, and covered accessories, and a separate 3-year outdoor roof warranty. The complimentary red light system is included at no additional charge and is not covered. Wood, labor, diagnosis, electrician costs, and replacement-part freight are also not covered; natural wood variation is not a defect. Commercial installations have 1-year covered-parts coverage.
