Yes, we can help with the conversion of your pre-existing traditional or infrared sauna to use VantaWave combination carbon/crystal heaters. It is a bit more difficult as the wiring will need to be strung through the sauna’s walls and completely re-wired. But yes, it is possible.

SaunaCloud® has years of experience designing and assisting in the construction process for custom saunas. From hotels, gyms, sauna studios to private residences, we’ve seen it all. Simply enter in your information below and we’ll be in touch with you within 24 hours to begin the exciting process of designing your custom sauna.

At the end of a half an hour session, the temperature will be around 125-135 degrees. The starting temperature that we recommend for getting in the sauna is 110 degrees.

The most difficult concept for people new to infrared saunas to understand is that an infrared sauna does not use hot air to produce a sweat. Rather, it uses invisible light on the far infrared spectrum that comes off as radiant heat. The invisible light, or infrared light, travels the same way that light does—in a straight line, and then penetrates into your skin and is absorbed raising your core body temperature from the inside.

Have you ever been cold in the shade or inside your home then walked outside into the sunlight and felt that internal warmth radiating through your body? That is far infrared radiant heat! When you are in the sauna you are slowly raising your core body temperature over the span of your sauna session. In the meantime, your core body temperature will have risen a few degrees producing a sweat that excretes toxins and heavy metals.

7.98 microns. [7.98 microns = 5268 / (200F + 460) ]

At an average of 7.98 microns you are getting the majority of the wavelength at around 8 microns. But because it is an average, you are getting some waves at 6 microns and some waves at 10 microns. At 6 microns water molecules begin to vibrate. When water molecules vibrate, toxins are shaken off of the cell (cells are made of water and are released into the body’s interstitial fluid where it can be excreted through the skin and other waste duct’s). The body releases these toxins and heavy metals through the lymphatic system, the liver, the skin, and removed through the small intestine and out of the body. It is true that your body does absorb far infrared at its highest amount at 9.4 microns because that is our skin’s surface temperature.

Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) are energy waves with frequencies below 300 hertz or cycles per second. The electromagnetic fields we encounter daily come from every day things such as power lines, radar and microwave towers, television and computer screens, motors, fluorescent lights, microwave ovens, cell phones, electric blankets, house wiring and hundreds of other common electrical devices.

Levels of electromagnetic fields (EMF) from human-made sources have increased steadily over the past 50-100 years. Most EMF exposures come from increased use of electricity and new technologies. In the past decades, potential adverse effects from EMF exposure on human health have been an important topic of research. In fact, in California, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) created the California Electric and Magnetic Fields (EMF) Program to research and provide education and technical assistance on the possible health effects of exposure to EMF.

In the California EMF report published in 2002, the three scientists concluded, among other things, that “To one degree or another, all three of the DHS scientists are inclined to believe that EMFs can cause some degree of increased risk of childhood leukemia, adult brain cancer, Lou Gehrig’s Disease, and miscarriage.” and indicated that levels below 3mg are safe.

Using our patent-pending infrared heater technology, our True Wave II heaters are the only carbon based infrared heaters with virtually No-EMF. Our exclusive manufacturing process allows us to cancel out EMF to levels that are virtually undetectable.

Using ultra-sensitive EMF testing equipment, all of our heaters are tested to ensure safe levels of EMF. Electro Magnetic Fields are measured in milligauss (mG). It is generally accepted that exposure to EMF should not exceed 3 milligauss. The EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) has proposed a safety standard of 3 mG. Sweden has also set a recommended safety limit of 3 mG. When EMF levels are measured inside the Clearlight Infrared Sauna all around your seated position, EMF levels are virtually undetectable.

Ask any of our competitors what level of EMF their heaters emit. You will be shocked at how high the levels of EMF are in their saunas (or worse, they may not even know)!

Every single part of your sauna is covered for the lifetime that you own it. No hidden fees or *limited* verbiage needed. If you need your sauna repaired, we’ll ship the parts to you free of charge and pay for an electrician or handyman to come fix it for you.

Plain and simple, carbon heaters do not get hot enough to raise your core body temperature. They don’t hold enough infrared heat to raise your core body temperature fast enough in the sauna environment. VantaWave Carbon and Crystal heaters start out with the highest quality carbon fiber and then add a fine crystal compound. The heater is then placed on top of another heater to double the emissivity, boost the infrared heat, and reduce the EMF to almost zero.

We use a non-VOC glue made by Titebond very sparingly inside of the sauna. It is a woodworker’s glue that is very safe to use in a sauna–you can even eat it.

No. The saunas go together with high pressure bindings and buckles—you simply place the panels in line and snap them together. Assembly is not complicated, but the panels are very heavy. For that reason, we recommend having two people to assemble the sauna. If at any time you run into trouble you can call or text our customer service line at (800) 370-0820.

Our saunas are very easy to assemble. In fact, you can have the whole thing assembled and ready for use in 30 minutes. The first step is to unpack it when it gets off of the truck. From there, remove each panel one by one and lean them up against a wall in the room where the sauna will reside. ***Pro Tip: make sure you know which room you want it in, that way we can deliver as close as possible.*** Locate the assembly manual and begin. Then, move the floor into place in the room that you want it. Place the back and side wall on top of the floor and snap them together with the high pressure bindings and buckles. Latch on the other wall, the front wall and then place the roof on top. Make a few connections and plug in the sauna. Questions? Call our customer service at (800) 370-0820.

Our one and two person saunas will not require any update to your electrical. The three person and above saunas will require a 20 amp circuit breaker. This is a very cheap and fast upgrade that can be done for around $50. If you need help locating an electrician in your area please let us know.

Quality Construction

You will feel the difference the first time you use your sauna. We use the highest quality structural materials with built-in anti-microbial properties. Our 2-person saunas are about 50 lbs heavier than a Costco sauna or similar, and won’t move or creak when you’re inside them.

With SaunaCloud, you receive the highest quality infrared sauna on the market, backed by a company that has been in business for over 17 years. We guarantee every part of the sauna, including the heater, for the life of the sauna and will service it, free of charge, for that duration.

High Quality Heaters

The organic carbon fiber sheet that we start with is a more expensive process than the spray on carbon that is used in cheap saunas (also, this spray on carbon has very high EMF). To cancel the EMF from our heaters we have built a double heater. What we do is start with an organic carbon fiber ‘paper.’ We then layer a high emissivity (high infrared output) ceramic compound to our heaters. The lower quality heaters our competitors use are made similar to the functioning of an ink jet printer. They run the heater through a ‘printing press’ that sprays the carbon ‘ink’ onto the heater and then it is sealed. With our heaters you get two opposing heaters that offer a higher amount of infrared heat and total watt density. We keep our heaters to about 27″ tall–concentrating the heat directly on your body. We can do this because of the high output of our heaters, and others do not.

Low EMF

Simply put, high EMF saunas are not safe. They use toxic glues and have high radiation. Low EMF is a staple of SaunaCloud.

Besides higher EMF levels, the main issue with cheap sauna heaters is that they have a weak infrared output and they also have all of those slats over the heaters blocking a good percentage of the infrared. They are very tall heaters, heating the air over your head and not heating your body directly. The whole idea behind infrared therapy is to heat your body directly and raise your core body temperature. The heaters would be much more effective if they brought them down in size as this would increase the watt density of the heater and it would produce more infrared heat.

Absolutely. We offer durable, heavy duty covers which will protect your sauna from the rain and snow, and also help to insulate the sauna. As long as you have a cover, you will still be fully covered under the lifetime warranty.

We have a $99 flat rate shipping rate.

No, you will not need an electrician for the installation of your sauna. However, some saunas do require and upgrade to a 20 amp circuit breaker. This will need to be done for saunas 3 person and above in size. It is usually about a $50 swap.

Your sauna ships via ground and will come on a liftgate truck. You will get tracking information from us as well as a phone call from the shipping company two days before delivery to schedule a drop off time.

Yes, your sauna is safe to use daily. From the electrical components to the wood to the heating elements, everything has been tested and certified for your health and safety. Our saunas are designed and manufactured to last–which is why we cover them with a full lifetime warranty and 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Yes. We offer bass wood, which is a white wood. We get inquiries from time about hypo allergenic woods and decided on bass wood as an alternative to cedar. The only consideration is that it does not keep naturally itself as clean as cedar, which is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, so you will need to make sure that you put a towel down on the bench and on the floor. As long as you do that there won’t be any sweat damage to the sauna. If you do need to clean the wood, just mix 1 part hydrogen peroxide with 10 parts water and wipe down the sauna.

Yes. The following is a quote from the EPA:

By a notice published in the Federal Register for public comment, EPA has proposed to exempt from regulation under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), natural cedar products which consist totally of cedar wood, are not combined or impregnated with other substances, and are intended only to repel arthropods other than ticks and/or to retard mildew. EPA believes it is unnecessary to regulate these products because they pose little or no risk to human health or the environment. Consumers are not likely to be exposed to significant amounts of cedarwood dust or oil, either dermally or by inhalation, when using these products. EPA is not aware of any evidence of injury to human health or the environment due to their use. The cost and effort involved in regulating these cedar products is not justified by the low risk concerns associated with them.As you will find on the internet, all of the studies regarding wood toxicity are as occupational hazards, not just from casual contact with the wood. In the 15 years we’ve been selling cedar saunas we have never had a sauna returned to us for any issues with cedar. This idea that cedar is toxic began when the price of cedar rose quite high about 5-7 years ago. It has been perpetuated over the years.

All of our wood comes from the Pacific Cedar Supply company in British Columbia, Canada.

Cedar wood is the best because it is naturally anti-microbial and anti-fungal. It does a great job at keeping the sauna environment free from bacteria. Additionally, it is the softest wood available for infrared saunas so it can withstand the constant heating up and cooling down of the sauna.

You can put your sauna flush against the wall if you would like; however, we recommend having two inches surrounding your sauna in case you need to access certain panels or move it easily.

The most difficult concept to explain to new infrared sauna researchers is that an infrared sauna does not use hot air to produce a sweat. Rather, it uses invisible light on the far infrared spectrum that comes off as radiant heat. Because it is invisible light it travels the same way that light does–in a straight line. What this light does is penetrate into your skin, it is absorbed, and then it raises your core body temperature from the inside. Have you ever been cold in the shade or inside your home then walked outside into the sunlight and felt that internal warmth radiating through your body? That is far infrared radiant heat! When you are in the sauna you are very slowly raising your core body temperature over the span of your sauna session. The starting temperature that we recommend for getting in the sauna is 110 degrees. At the end of a half an hour session, the temperature will be around 120-125 degrees. In the meantime, your core body temperature will have risen a few degrees producing a sweat that is full of toxins and heavy metals.

How often you use your sauna is up to you. It is my personal recommendation that you use your sauna everyday for 30 minutes per session. The more you use your sauna, the more cardiovascular exercise you will get, the more detoxification benefits you will receive, and the deeper sleep you will experience. All of the many other great health benefits will come much faster by using your sauna daily.

There are countless medical studies on the merits of infrared saunas. We are adding them to our site consistently. To view the medical studies, download our book, The Definitive Guide to Infrared Saunas and view the medical studies chapter.
