For years I have been an outspoken advocate of infrared sauna therapy; however, I am not a physician. Research suggests when asked, many doctors do recommend far infrared sauna therapy.
Doctors use this type of sauna for improving everything from the skin to its use in cancer management.
Additionally, many alternative cancer centers are employing far infrared sauna therapy as part of their detoxification protocol.
Knowing this, it only makes sense to include this therapy into your daily health routine. It is gratifying to be able to point to a doctor’s recommendation, as well.
Infrared helps reduce cardiovascular stress
An article in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology demonstrated that using an infrared sauna improves vascular, endothelial, and cardiac function in patients with congestive heart failure.
A Japanese study of 20 men with at least one risk factor for heart disease assessed the effects of a short 15-minute stay in a 140-degree sauna every other day for two weeks. The study found that the use of infrared sauna therapy diminished systolic blood pressure in subjects.
