The National Institutes of Health, NIH, state that diabetes is one of the leading and major risk factors for both heart attacks and strokes. Though it is considered to be a manageable illness, over time it can be the cause of a great deal of debilitating damage to the body.
Diabetes and its resulting high blood glucose wreaks havoc on the human system and can lead to heart issues, blindness, bad circulation, amputation and kidney problems. However, hope is on the horizon in the form of far infrared sauna therapy.
A little more about diabetes. This debilitating disease affects over three million people worldwide. Since there is an abundance of food generally low in nutrients with high caloric values, diabetes is evident in epidemic proportions. Add in a decrease in physical activity and diabetes flourishes.
Currently on trend is the desire to use fewer pharmaceuticals while maintaining optimal health. There is one effective device in use for over two decades available that accomplishes a reduction in blood sugar levels and the elimination of many if not all medication. What is this wonder drug? Not a drug at all. It is called a far infrared sauna!
Evidence implies that far infrared sauna use enhances the quality of life for those suffering from Diabetes along with many other diseases. Far infrared has also been able to treat the symptoms of heart failure, chronic pain and even the depression related to Diabetes.
Over the past few years, there have been many studies conducted on the benefits of far infrared therapy. Two studies from 2010 site some interesting new findings in terms of aid to those suffering from diabetes. In April of 2010, Japanese researchers studied the effects of far infrared on patients suffering with type II diabetes.
The results published in Acta Medica Okayama were encouraging. They discovered that a bedridden patient with type II diabetes mellitus, given 15-minute infrared treatments over a two week period, realized less oxidative stress and those levels of oxidative stress were significantly decreased.
In June of the same year another published study found that infrared saunas aid in a diabetics management of several of their chronic symptoms. Dr. Richard Beever stated, in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, that after using an infrared sauna, three times a week for at least twenty minutes, over a three month period, it decreased symptoms such as fatigue, blood pressure, weight gain, and cholesterol and sugar levels. It also measurably improved quality of life as seen in reduced stress, greater relaxation and general well being by decreasing chronic pain, depression and fatigue.
Last but not least are the findings regarding those individuals not yet diagnosed with, but who present indicators they may be at high risk for, full-blown diabetes. The compilation of these symptoms are called Syndrome X. Symptoms of this syndrome include increased blood sugar levels, high cholesterol, elevated blood pressure and weight gain.
Far infrared saunas provide the infrared therapy that can all but reduce, when used consistently, most if not all of these symptoms leading to diabetes. As several studies have shown those at risk for developing diabetes, along with those already suffering from the disease, all favorably respond to the comfortable, therapeutic and healing far infrared found in our full line of saunas.
On a personal note, when my grandmother passed away it was discovered she had actually died from congestive heart failure. This disease is one of the many dangerous results of unchecked diabetes. Realizing that diabetes can be somewhat genetic I have recently looked into whether or not the consistent use of a far infrared sauna would help reduce the pain, discomfort and many other side effects diabetes can cause. The good news? The answer is yes, far infrared sauna therapy definitely improves the quality of life for those suffering from diabetes. It also allows diabetics to favorably respond to the warm and gentle, comfortable and therapeutic healing far infrared sauna therapy provides.
I’m sorry to say my grandmother died before I even knew about the preventative and healing qualities of far infrared sauna therapy. It is heartening that so many others have been able to utilize all the many benefits warm, gentle and healing far infrared has to offer. The results from all the many tests and research projects add hope and relief for those suffering from diabetes.
Far infrared sauna therapy does allow for significant changes to their quality of life, reduces stress, aids in relief from fatigue while also assisting in overall better general health and improvement in social functioning. Along with monitoring glucose levels add far infrared sauna therapy to your daily routine. It truly is an attractive and complementary option in the treatment and management of diabetes.
I am glad infrared saunas have developed the way they have, because I couldn’t imagine my life without the benefits they provide, like deep sleep, lower blood pressure, less joint pain, weight loss, and a boosted immune system.
