I recently returned from a great trip to both New York City and Austin, Texas. It was a combination business trip and visit with friends and family. I was gone almost two weeks and really enjoyed all the work I got done but most of all I just had fun re-connecting with my family and friends. That’s the good news. The bad news is I’ve been sick ever since I returned. I suspect this has to do with my non-stop flight from Texas. I hear so many stories about people getting sick after any extended flight I’m beginning to think I should begin taking copious amounts of vitamin C prior to any future adventures in the air. I need to figure out how to best fight those flight germs!
When I finally arrived home the first thing I did was sleep for a whole day. The second thing I did was to jump into my Far Infrared sauna. I only spent thirty minutes inside but after a good sauna session and hot shower I actually felt better – certainly more relaxed. I am so glad I was able to instantly relieve most of my symptoms and really get a full nights sleep. I know if I keep at it eventually I will be symptom free and feeling fine.
When your body is heated, sick, diseased cells, bacteria and virus germs can’t survive. Heating your body every day is a great way to avoid if not eliminate infections. Using Far Infrared heat daily, for about twenty to thirty minutes, is a superior way to prevent illness. Keeping your core body temperature elevated even for only 30 minutes a day actually supports your immune system.
This ability to heat your body and relieve symptoms is also equally effective not only prior to feeling ill but also wonderful when symptoms get the better of you. Raising your body temperature really helps to fight any multiplying germs. The dry, Far Infrared heat combats the cold virus, the flu and many other seasonal bugs that may infect you. Your body’s immune system is given a huge boost while sitting in a Far Infrared sauna. This is due to the sauna’s ability to raise your body’s core temperature thereby creating a ‘false’ fever. As your body’s temperature elevates this temperature creates a hostile environment for any bacteria or virus cells within your body. This heat also triggers not only white blood cells, but Natural Killer cells, as well. The white blood cells and the Killer cells seek out the weakened diseased cells and obliterate them. This results in a superior and stronger immune system.
It is always a good idea to drink plenty of good, clean water when you are ill. Best to drink lots of water before during and after taking a Far Infrared sauna. Not only will water flush impurities it will keep you from becoming dehydrated. After your sauna session fix a cup of hot tea or eat some chicken soup; always a good choice when not feeling well. Consistent use of Far Infrared sauna therapy can also assist with some of these other immune boosting strategies. After all, time spent in your Far Infrared sauna not only relaxes, refreshes, and de-stresses it also detoxifies, improves circulation and lowers blood pressure. All that and I found that I sleep so much better after even only one, thirty minute session. A good nights sleep is also effective for easing symptoms and boosting immunity.
I believe in order to truly boost your immune system and stay healthy, especially if you’re going on a trip involving an airplane, or simply in cold and flu season, remember to reduce your stress level, drink plenty of clean, fresh water, eat organic and healthy as much as possible. Also, take a daily Far Infrared sauna and get plenty of sleep. A sauna a day keeps those nasty symptoms at bay!
