We get asked a lot if we only sell the individual components required to make your own infrared sauna? And the answer is yes! We sell all components to build the sauna of your dreams (or at least one that will fit in a spare closet!)
I would say that in comparison to people interested in portable saunas, about 20 percent of total infrared sauna seekers are interested in building their own custom saunas. Indeed, if I had the choice of purchasing a pre-made portable sauna or build my own custom sauna, I would opt for the custom sauna. To design every detail of my sauna and choose the look and feel would be a great project (as long as you don’t mind a little DIY).
The process is simple. You’ll need the dimensions of the room that you want the sauna to go in. What you will be effectively doing is putting wood (either cedar or aspen) all around the room, covering every inch of wall space. It is my recommendation that you plan out the bench space carefully. You will want 22 inches in depth minimum and at least a foot of space on the floor in front of you. I also wouldn’t recommend anything less than 30 inches in width either. The heaters and backrest will come out 3 inches from the wall as well. So you will need to put that in your plans.
Once the heaters are in place in their frames and attached to the wall, you will make a few simple connections to the power supply (located underneath the bench) and then attach the power supply to the control panel. You’re all done!
If you need any assistance in a custom unit please let us know. We have years of experience and can walk you through pretty much any scenario at this point.
